I’m Amelia C. M. Moseley. I’m the indie author of the Word Walkers Series, and a creator on a lot of different platforms. This website is a central hub for all of those adventures, and for any that might come in the future. And there will definitely be more in the future. So be sure to stay tuned for more weird, exploitative, and magical fun.

Background

Where to start? My dad was in the Army, so I moved a lot growing up. I’ve been a little bit of everywhere. It’s pushed me to be adaptable, to learn, and to strive to always improve. I may not be cut out for the military, but I can do my best to always do better.

I’ve always had a passion for different types of storytelling. Whether it was writing plays, learning Dungeons & Dragons, or expanding into video game writing, I’ve always had an interest in learning more about other types of media and how we can tell better stories.

Halfway through my time at the University of Northern Colorado, I started the first book of Word Walkers. It was a passion project for my husband, a big fantasy fan with ADD. It became my mission to write a book that he could read without struggling with his disabilities, and Word Walkers was what came out of that.

From there, I can only hope to bring more people into enjoying reading like I could with him.

Experience

I have a lot of writing experience, but only a few publications.

If you asked me five years ago, I would say my biggest achievement was my fanfiction or my roleplay website. I still am passionate about these things. I think both are amazing gateways into writing for some many young storytellers, and we need to encourage them as outlets.

If you asked me three years ago, I’d say my blogs on games journalism or my video essays analyzing games. I’ve spent a lot of time, particularly in college, research topics and breaking them down to find better experiences in games. I think from the analysis of other creations we can better improve out own.

If you ask me a year ago, I would have said my small publications in my college’s publications. I spent a lot of time and still have some of the only print copies of those magazines. They weren’t groundbreaking achievements, but they were motivation to push forward as a writer.

Now, it’s my book. The Word Walkers series means so much to me and I can’t wait to share this story with everyone.
